RUN or WALK to keep Africa Alive!—Here’s how:
You don’t have to be an experienced marathoner to participate; if this is your first attempt at an endurance event, we will provide you with links to numerous training programs to help you complete it. You don’t have to run; you can walk.
Raise money for a worthy cause and earn free roundtrip tickets to Ghana from the U.S., Europe or Canada to participate in the 2nd Annual Accra International Marathon (AIM) on 28 September 2008.

AIM ’08 Eligibility Criteria for Free Roundtrip Tickets and Accommodation*
- Simply raise $5,200 or more in paid pledges and earn roundtrip tickets to Accra to participate in the 2nd Annual AIM. Successful fundraisers will also receive free accommodation at a 3-star or better hotel in Accra and a refund of their registration fee.
- Fundraisers from locations other than the U.S., Canada or Europe can earn up to $1,000 credit towards their round-trip air tickets and accommodation.
- Participants who collect at least $2,500 in paid pledges can earn the following amounts towards their round-trip air tickets and accommodation:

- Your fundraising efforts will be made easier because:
- All pledges from your sponsors are deductible for U.S. income tax purposes;
- You will be supported with your own personal, professionally-maintained fundraising webpage, increasing your potential support base to include all visitors to the websites of both The Longevity Project and the Accra International Marathon.
- You will receive free souvenir-quality health & fitness planners to give as thanks to donors.
- Your paid pledges are transferable to another participant with the approval of your sponsor. You may designate a friend to claim the incentive award for paid pledges submitted in the event you cannot participate or do not need the award.
- Upon receipt of $100 in paid pledges, registered fundraisers will receive up to 25 copies of the AIM 2008 Health & Fitness Planners (H&FP) to use in fundraising. In addition to providing a handy log of your training or fitness activities, the planners include common phrases and useful phrases translated into 5 major Ghanaian languages. Additional copies of planners will be made available as needed.
*Award of round-trip tickets subject to changes in air fares. At least 75% of all pledges entitling participant to free air tickets and accommodations must be submitted by 30 June 2008, and the balance must be submitted before participants will be given the complimentary air tickets. All other pledges may be submitted at any time, provided that no incentive award will be given until the paid pledges are received. A receipt will be issued for all paid pledges. Top fundraisers will be acknowledged in a future issue of Africa Alive! magazine.
