I'm walking to keep
Africa Alive!

Dear friends of The Longevity Project,
I am Alex Tabi, an accountant and the father of two teenagers. Scrutinizing
returns on investments and making cost-benefit analyses are professional habits
that often creep into other areas of my daily routine.
I first learned about the importance of staying healthy and keeping fit from a Reader’s Digest article that talked about the benefits of wholesome foods and aerobics exercise. I was in university at the time, and I noticed that following the advice in that article increased my alertness as well as my ability to cope with the stress of my study load.
Reflecting, I realized that many of my fellow Ghanaians and Africans do not know enough about the benefits of sound health and as a result don’t value or safeguard their health. I am training to walk to support the work The Longevity Project is doing to increase Ghanaians’ awareness of the perils of poor health for longevity and for personal and professional productivity. I find that my own productivity is improved when I work with healthy, energetic colleagues. All in all, I believe that the returns that accrue from the investment in keeping healthy and fit far outweigh the costs.
In a sense too, I hope that by keeping fit myself and supporting my compatriots to do the same, I am investing not only in my children’s future but in the future of all of Africa’s children. Please help The Project in this worthy cause by registering to walk with me to keep Africa Alive! If you cannot join me in person, join me in spirit by pledging me. Me daasi pii (thank you very much)!
