Dear Friends & Sponsors,

The word is out, the rumour’s true; she’s raising funds for something new.
What could it be I hear your cry? This time I won’t jump from the sky.
The time is set, with trainers on; I’m going to run a Marathon!
So please dig deep the targets high, I’m training hard and that’s no lie.
For mission one, a positive drive, to help keep Africa Alive!
For mission two I cannot fail, these children walk a tougher trail.
The sun beats down, the dirt roads rough, but what they need, is a School bus!

Please help me to raise funds to support The Longevity Project and Christ Covenant School Complex in Ghana. I will be taking part in the second annual Accra International Marathon (AIM) in Ghana on 28th September 2008. I have never run a Marathon before and certainly not in sub-Saharan Africa! Therefore, I need you to support me just in case my knees won’t!

Angela Appiah and Christ Covenant School pupils
Angela Appiah of the UK brought her own cheering section in the form of pupils of Christ Covenant School, who traveled all the way from Wenchi to see their heroine finish the race.

For those who do not know me, my name is Angela Appiah. I was born and live in London. I lived in Ghana with my Grandmother for a few years when I was three years old and have been back to visit family and friends over the years.

My mother has built a nursery school in Wenchi village to provide the important foundations for learning. The school houses 120 children so far and the building is in desperate need of completion.
I have been blessed with good health and opportunities but saddened when I hear of so many people in Africa who have to fight for the basic necessities in life.

Help me to make a difference. A donation will be the gift of education and a better quality of life for Ghanaian people.

Best,
Angela Appiah
