My name is Jessica and I'm a biology student in California. In one of my courses last year, we studied the longevity profiles of various populations around the world. I was saddened but not too surprised to learn that the worst longevity statistics are predominantly in Sub-Saharan Africa. This year, I have decided to train and take part in the Accra International Marathon in an effort to do something about the situation. I have never done any part of a marathon before, but I am motivated by the hope that in some small way, I can help to improve both the life expectancy and the quality of life for our brothers and sisters in Africa. I hope you are ready to participate, but if you can't support by personally running or walking this year, I hope you will lend your financial support and pledge me. Thank you for helping Africans everywhere live longer, healthier lives.
